Krystal Bey is an actress, writer, visual artist, and content creator from Richmond, Virginia. Having discovered her passion for the arts at a young age, much of her early education and extracurricular pursuits were tailored so that she could hone her skills on an ongoing basis. This stringent dedication to the arts led Krystal to graduate cum laude from Columbia College Chicago where she majored in theatre, minored in creative writing, and excelled in the university’s elite creative arts programs. 

 

Krystal gained invaluable industry experience during her college career working print and commercial opportunities, and starring in short films such as Dropout, and Quarantine. She also appeared as background talent in FOX’s hit show Empire and Overbrook Entertainment’s independent feature Hala. Most recently, Krystal’s acting credits include the short film Look Again and a host of commercial work including collaboration with brands like IHop, KMart, Darling Hair, Footlocker, Whimzees, and more. 

 

As a natural empath, Krystal is highly fascinated by the human experience. In the same way that her love for acting is a reflection of her empathetic nature, so too is her passion for writing and art. She is a lifelong wordsmith and first began constructing poetry at six years old. Since then, she has been heavily influenced by the musical, imagistic, and reflective writing style of the Harlem Renaissance and other cultural movements that portray how art lives in the minds and bodies of the oppressed. Her study of these works has taught her never to underestimate life experience as a valuable source of inspiration. 

 

Krystal also harbors a deep passion for all things faith, marriage, lifestyle, and motherhood. She is a proud Christian, wife, and mother, and is the owner and founder of Bey Creative LLC, a creative arts company focused on prompting the discipline of remembrance. When she’s not working, she can often be found practicing a new recipe, studying the Bible, and spending time with family.
